Interior Design Glasgow A fresh interior design for a fresh new start Landcorp in Glasgow is the name of the new corporation created with the merger of the 2 corporations Land Securities and Housecorp. To integrate the two organisations it was decided to totally refurbish and fit out the interior design in Glasgow. The interior design and office fit out was done by Glasgow interior design consultancy and office fit out contractors Mckellar. To really make a fresh start, the young corporation gave her office a full facelift. In their old offices visitors struggled to find the reception desk and they were short of 2 visitors meetiong rooms. Also this office refurbishment was the ideal opportunity to improve the building climate improve other technical installations and make the space better suitable for disabled access.
Landcorp had actually only one wish: a less anonymous and sterile look. Apart from that, the design team has been given carte blanche. On the basis of 3 moodboards the corporation chose the realm of the building. They chose soft natural materials with different shades of green. Powerful statement Interior designer Kit-Har from McKellar/Amos Beech has researched the existing strong qualities of the space first to decide what needed to be added to reinforce this. The existing staircase with the horizontal wooden balustrade together with the lines of the vide formed a powerful statement. This structure is taken as a starting point that returns in the custom made reception desk, and in the adjacent visitor areas. The effect is reinforced by vertically placing green colored panels behind the vide. Logical routing The format has been modified to reflect the new organisational structure. The customer-related departments are now concentrated around the spacious and bright hall. The showroom and office have swapped locations, making the reception a central place in the extension of the entrance. Natural touch In collaboration with photographer Vincent Hartman we have designed photo wallpaper and acoustic panels in canteen that are compatible with the natural theme. With the playful lampshades and the robust dining tables the common areas now breathe domesticity. Comfortable work place = productive Landcorp takes a comfortable workplace very seriously. That is why we have taken care of the building from a technically point of view as well, allowing us to reduce noise and we now have personally adjustable temperature and lighting. Also workers could specify their individual needs in terms of furniture. A happy architect Designer Kitt-Har McLaughlin is very excited about the cooperation. “I got all the freedom to make it as crazy as I wanted. We have worked intensively together, during which I got a lot of feedback from the client on my proposals. The result was very organic that was really liked by the employees.” Result: a green oasis Now, 6 months later, the Office is almost unrecognizable transformed into a green oasis. Amos Beech was responsible for the interior design, spave planing and fit out as well as the climate improvement.
